ALLEN STILLWELL - OWNER / PRESIDENT
Allen Stillwell holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. When Allen founded Stillwell Building Systems, he had already worked in the construction industry for over 13 years gaining experience with ground-up, turn key, high rise and office warehouse construction. As Owner of Stillwell Building Systems, the extra attention to detail begins with Allen. Involved with the Construction Industry since 1973, he sets the tone for our service oriented approach. Allen is involved with all aspects of day to day operations.
Allen formed Stillwell Building Systems to take his advanced and diverse experience level and put it to use assisting Owners in the building process. At Stillwell, we offer a premium level of service to the Owners as they build. Owners appreciated and valued this service in 1986 when Stillwell Building Systems was founded, and we find our dedication to this level of service remains the driving force behind our numerous repeat clients today.
Some of Allen’s varied responsibilities are: Construction Manager. Chief Financial Officer. Project Executive. Business Development. Pre-Construction Work. Work with Owners on Design, and State and Local requirements for Proposed Project. Work with Owners to meet Budget Requirements. Contract Writing. Budget Approval. Change Orders. Estimating. Work with Architects and Engineers to provide Cost Savings and Total Project Satisfaction.
GWEN PETERSON - ACCOUNTING / OFFICE MANAGER
Gwen has 17 years of accounting experience in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction fields and has experienced Construction from all sides. She has been the Accounting and Office Manager at Stillwell Building Systems for 13 years. When Gwen arrived at SBS in the fall of 1994, the Company's entire accounting and financials were handled on paper only, long hand. Before becoming part of SBS' team in the early 90's, Gwen worked for an Architectural firm located in Arlington and before that she worked for an MEP Engineering Consulting firm located in North Dallas. Gwen placed the entire SBS financial books and payroll into Quickbooks Pro back in January of 1995 and molded it to fit the Company’s Construction needs. Gwen works closely with our Bonding and Insurance Company to coordinate the needs to meet the requirements for all Construction Projects and Bid Submittals. She also prepares all Financial requirements for all Stillwell Building Systems Bid Proposals. Gwen handles all payments and a wide variety of other requests for SBS Subcontractors & Suppliers. Gwen’s extra efforts allow the Construction Management Team to be readily available, as required, for each Project. She is also currently completing her B.A. Degree in Accounting.
Gwen’s Responsibilities include: Accounts Receivable. Accounts Payable. Check Writing. Company Payroll. Bank Deposits. Maintains the Company's Checking, Money Market, and CD Bank Accounts. Yearly & Quarterly State & Federal Corporate Financial Reporting. Franchise Tax Reporting. Monthly Sales Tax Reporting, Preparation of Employee W-2’s and Vendor 1099’s, Maintains Quickbooks Job Report Financials, Vendor & Supplier Credit Applications,. Invoicing. Collections. Transmit and Track Owner Payment Applications & all other types of Invoices. Set Up/Maintain Vendor & Customer Accounts. Maintain Commercial Insurance & Bonding. Monthly Builder’s Risk Reporting. Maintain Proofs of Insurance Certificates from all Subcontractors. Project Lien Releases. Employee Benefit/Retirement/Health Insurance Enrollment. Preparation of Contracts & Subcontract Agreements. Prepare Project Close Out Packages. Notary Republic since 1990.
ASHLEY ELSTON - ESTIMATING AND PROJECT ASSISTANT
Ashley has been with Stillwell Building Systems for 3 years. Ashley provides computer based administration and coordination and support for both Project Management and Estimating. Before coming to work for Stillwell Building Systems, Ashley held several management positions. She has extensive Website, Marketing, and Customer Service experience. Ashley is a self starter and approaches situations with creative and motivated methods. She is a strong team member, but also works well independently and handles multiple and diverse responsibilities. She is an honor student and is interested in pursuing a degree in Teaching.
Ashley’s Responsibilities include: Website Maintenance, Subcontractor Bid Plan Room Manager, Subcontractor Data Base, Plan Reproduction, Estimating Assistant, Subcontractor Communication, Office Bid Coordination, Project Management Assistance, Submittals, RFI Distribution, Bid Paperwork, Project Records, Material Sourcing/Purchasing.
PROJECT SUPERINTENDENTS
Our Construction Management Team includes some of the top Superintendents in the Metroplex. Our Project Superintendents are skilled at working with Owners and Architects to provide a stress free, well coordinated construction project. We are known for our ability to supervise construction work in high profile facilities as they remain open. Among these are: FAA Traffic Control Building, JFK Museum, Dallas Convention Center - Bruton Theatre, Tarrant County Plaza Building, HEB Auditorium, United Health Group, TCU Tucker Building, JPS Hospital, Parkland Hospital, City of Dallas - Kalita Humphreys Theater.
